Collection of Sachet Water Bags

Street children, in collaboration with students from the University of Ghana, are working together to collect water sachet bags by two means:

1. Collecting directly off the streets of Accra (Ghana's capitol) and

2. Collecting through recycling bins placed around the campus of the University of Ghana.

The work of the children and students is significantly cutting down the amount of litter clogging the streets, as well as creating awareness for all those who witness these young people's efforts.

Sanitation of Sachet Water Bags

One of our #1 priorities is to create and sustain a healthier environment.  Because of this, great care and consideration has been put into the sanitation of our products.  Under adult supervision, each sachet has been washed, sanitized and dried before the sewing process ever begins.

Sewing of Sachet Water Bags

Those children who show interest in the craft of sewing are given the opportunity to take part in the production of aBAN on Neglect bags.

A trained seamstress educates the students on sewing methods and safety guidelines. After proper training and with the seamstresses support, the children are given a creative license in designing every bag. aBAN on Neglect is only one portion of a child’s sewing training. By the end of the training process, students have attained the assets necessary to compete in the workforce as professional seamstresses.
